MICRO PROPAGATION OF APPLE ROOTSTOCKS

Seven Star is working to bring in globally practiced latest horticultural technologies and best rootstocks and scion varieties of apple to Indian farmers. Due to the lack of which the Apple productivity in India has been affected.

The company is working towards vertically organising the entire apple value chain through technology interventions: superior genetics, modern high throughput nurseries, developing a cold chain and ensuring proper storage, increase in shelf-life, transportation, world class grading and sorting infrastructure as well as ensuring branded marketing, to ultimately result in Indian farmers getting the best price for their produce. Seven Star has secured license for exclusively propagating Geneva® Apple rootstocks in India.

The joint Cornell University and United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDAARS) Apple Rootstock Breeding and Evaluation Program has developed new GENEVA® rootstock cultivars.
