Cherry

The Global Fresh Cherries market is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 5.2%, during the forecast period (2020-2025) of which Asian pacific region has highest growth rate.

Cultivation of cherries via traditional trees can be challenging , as these take up large amount of space and the fruits borne are high up in the branches , making difficulty in harvesting. Introduction of dwarfing rootstocks in these regions would be game changer. Seven Star Fruits is working towards the change, it has got the exclusive license from Consortium Deutscher Baumschulen to propagate Gisela® rootstocks series GiSelA® 5, GiSelA® 6, GiSelA® 12, GiSelA® 13 and GiSelA® 17 which has greater advantages over the traditional one.

Advantages of Gisela® Rootstocks :

  • Gisela® stocks are very precocious and heavy bearing , usually producing cherries in 3rd year and full crop in 4th year, while the traditional trees take 5 to 9 years after planting.
  • Smaller tree size makes it ideal for protection against external environmental threats like rain, frost, birds etc.
  • Due to high yield , early productivity and wide angles branching habit makes it suitable for wide range of supporting system.
  • High return on investment.
